Yes, WONKY is a bit of an odd term, but poetic and appropriate as well. Aside from having such a pleasant sound, WONKY is a quick way of getting to the matter that is me. Throughout my life people have always described me as slightly askew, odd. At first I resented the label but came to embrace the notion of being slightly off plumb. Many of the world's greatest discoveries have come from the seemingly futile efforts of one solitary, and dare I say it, WONKY individual. Sure, many of these characters are little more than eccentrics, but the world would be a much lesser place without eccentricity.
I have come to pride myself on the WONKINESS I see in myself and the people around me. If ignorance is the first step towards enlightenment, perhaps WONKINESS is the first step towards, uh, something good. It's when I recognise a thing or a process that is unstable, unreliable, or flat-out broken, that a magical moment occurs. This is when the means by which the thing can be improved in a meaningful way is discovered.
